Python Meetup @ Sofia, April Edition
**Python Meetup @ Sofia**
Prefect is almost Perfect!** ✨
Dell Technologies 💻.
Python 🐍.

**Python Meetup @ Sofia, April Edition 🐍🌸**
**Python Meetup @ Sofia** continues this April with a fresh spring vibe 🌼 and an exciting topic 💡
Post-Easter tradition calls for us to gather at the end of the month 📅, learn something new 📚, share knowledge 🤝, and, of course, do some proper networking. 🧑💼
🗓️ The date is **April 28th**, and the place is 📍**Barter Community Hub** 🏢. We kick off at ⏰ 19:00.
🎫 The event is **completely free** ✅ - all you need to do is confirm your attendance here 🙌
📢 Topic: **Prefect is almost Perfect! ✨**
👨💻 Speaker: **Borislav Varadinov**
💭 **What we’ll talk about:**
Prefect is a modern workflow orchestration engine built with developers in mind - or as they say, designed for humans👩💻👨💻.
Unlike many orchestrators built on DSLs 🧩or heavy configurations, Prefect lets you write workflows in plain Python 🐍 - intuitive, readable, and easy to pick up. It is a clean and elegant. You define flows and tasks just like normal Python functions, which reduces the learning curve and keeps your project clean and consistent.🧱
**🎙️ About the speaker:**
Borislav is a passionate Senior Principal Engineer 🚀and DevOps Advocate 🛠️with extensive experience in development, automation🤖, infrastructure as code, and configuration management. Currently contributing to cutting-edge projects at Dell Technologies💻. He has experience working with various programming languages, but in recent years, his true passion is Python 🐍.
After the talk, we’ll continue with a **networking session** 🤝 featuring some tasty snacks 🍕 (no Easter bread 😄) and drinks 🥤 — with special thanks to our partners at **[Waracle](https://waracle.com/)** 🙏. And some of you might even walk away with a small prize 🎁 from our **raffle**.
We’re looking forward to seeing you on **April 28th** at \*\*Barter Community Hub!\*\*📍 We start sharp at 19:00. ⏰
Sofia Crypto Meetup - We survived the bottom!
I survived the bottom!

**Our most important annual event will take place on Tuesday, April 28 at 7 PM.**
**ABOUT THE EVENT**
Join us for the 2026 edition of our flagship annual gathering - an essential event for product managers, aspiring PMs, and anyone curious about the evolving product management landscape in Bulgaria. As artificial intelligence reshapes industries and transforms how products are built, this year's edition explores what it means to be a product manager in an AI-driven world.
In the first part of the evening, our team will present the findings from the Annual PM Ecosystem Survey 2026, offering a comprehensive understanding of the product management profession in Bulgaria during this pivotal moment of technological change.
You'll gain insights into how product companies in Bulgaria are adapting to AI, the evolving profiles and backgrounds of product managers navigating this new landscape, the most pressing challenges PMs face as they integrate AI into their work, and guidance on how to start your journey if you're considering a career in product management.
The presentation will also cover average salary rates across different seniority levels - from junior to senior and director-level positions - as well as emerging ways of working that are reshaping the product management profession in the age of artificial intelligence.
Following the presentation, a panel discussion (speakers TBA) will bring together three accomplished product professionals who will share their unique approaches to product development and AI integration within their respective organizations.
They will provide candid insights into how the PM profession has evolved and discuss the strategies, challenges, and opportunities that define product management in 2026.
**SECURE YOUR SPOT**
Given the overwhelming interest in previous editions, we encourage you to **register early to guarantee your place**.
Don't miss this opportunity to connect with fellow product professionals, gain insights into the future of product management, and be part of the conversation shaping the industry in 2026.

Fashion and Nigeria: What can Europe learn from Nigerian culture and fashion?
## **Fashion and Nigeria**
**What can Europe learn from Nigerian culture and fashion?**
***
Fashion designer and personal stylist **Boryana Vatova** traveled to Nigeria in 2018 and stayed there until 2020. The reason – an invitation to teach fashion at the *Learn and Work* academy, where she later became Head of the Design Department.
Boryana shares:
*"When I moved to Nigeria, I realized how different the culture is from the European one. At first, it was difficult for me to find the right way to communicate. That’s when I started studying human nature more deeply and understood that if you approach people with genuine interest and respect, cultural differences become a bridge rather than a barrier. Gradually, I built a very strong connection with my students and the people there. They accepted me deeply and authentically, which was a great gift for me. Nigeria taught me to notice the small things, to be grateful, and to value human connection above all else."*
On April 26th, we invite you to a first-hand story with both professional and personal perspectives. Through many photos, videos, and engaging stories, we will explore the following topics:
• The *Learn and Work* Academy and the educational model between Italy and Nigeria
• The students – their ambition and attitude toward knowledge and fashion
• Nigerian fashion energy – colors, silhouettes, textiles, symbolism
• Cultural identity as the foundation of style
• How elements of African aesthetics can be integrated into the European fashion context
The idea is to show that cultural exchange is not one-way – it is a dialogue.
At the end of the talk, you will have the opportunity to ask your questions to Boryana Vatova about her experience in Nigeria, its culture, and of course – her work in fashion.
📅 **Date:** April 29, 2026
⏰ **Time:** 20:30 – 22:30
🍷 A complimentary drink is included in a cozy atmosphere.
🎟️ **Participation fee:** €15
Please contact us to reserve your spot.
📍 **Location:** AfriKaya Studio, Lozenets district, 56–58 Krum Popov St., 3rd floor

**More about Boryana Vatova:**
My name is Boryana Vatova and I am a fashion designer and personal stylist. Between 2018 and 2020, I lived and worked in Nigeria, where I taught fashion at the private *Learn and Work* academy – an institution based on an Italian-Nigerian partnership. I later became Head of the Design Department. This experience changed not only my professional path but also the way I communicate and build relationships with people. Nigeria taught me gratitude for the small things and deep respect for cultural identity. Today, this is reflected in my work – I build strong personal connections with the people I work with and believe that fashion is a bridge between cultures.

Tango & Milonga: Practice and Social in Dublin
We practice, dance, and enjoy a BYOB bottle of your favorite wine at the Dublin Ballroom off Sawmill, North, and “milonga” is a social event for tango dancing where dancers socialize. A “*practica*” is an informal social event for tango dancing where dancers focus on practicing the dance; while a “*practilonga*” combines the relaxed atmosphere of a “*practica*” with the format of a “milonga.” We are doing it all!
***Cost is $10 payable to the Teacher.*** *Cost is for the cost of the venue and covers some snacks.* We have had fun doing this event in the past. Please arrive promptly as lessons begin at 2pm. Don't worry about bringing a partner as there will be others at the event from outside the group that: a) might have a clue and b) won't step on your toes.
The event is BYOB (similar to our Salsa events), so bring your favorite and a wine glass. We will likely find a place for dinner and drinks after the dance.
Newcomers/ Derby Night (wine tasting)
**In an unprecedented effort** to cram WAY too much FUN into one single night this is a **wine tasting** (*sample 4 wines*) / **Kentucky Derby** celebration (*wear your fancy derby hat that you literally cannot wear anywhere else*)/ and **New Members** Night. But mostly THIS IS "***New Members Night***." If you are one of the many folks on the fence about coming to your first wine tasting with the *Hilliard Wine Club*, this is the night to come. There will be many other new people, so you won't be alone. And the regulars will be there to help make you feel welcome. We're a relaxed and warm group. We hope to see you.
**SIDE NOTE:** New members are welcome to ALL our Friday night wine tastings, but this night is a special overture to those who don't want to feel that they are the only new person in the room. Don't worry. You won't be. And don't hesitate to RSVP to other events.
**OLD MEMBERS NOTE**: Hey Old Members! You're not excluded from this event. We expect to see you there to help make the new members feel welcome.
**Sample 4 different wines** this Friday for $15 (*Cash or Venmo only please*). Glasses are provided. Bring a snack to share. Bring a bottle to share if you care to. See all the details below for the Hilliard Wine Club Wine Tasting. In Person. In Real Life. Actual Wine from glass bottles with corks and everything.
**Wine**: Tastings will be $15 for four samples as always. And you are welcome to bring a bottle of your favorite wine to share with others. Participation in the wine tastings is optional. But since you’re going, I will buy enough wine to cover you. If you bring your own wine and do not participate in the tasting you will only pay $10 to cover the door charge.
**Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby.
**Glasses**: …will be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please be gentle, our glasses are fragile. Uh, they are made of glass!
**Food**: You are welcome to bring a snack to share. It is not required. Most people do though. If no one brings anything, there will be nothing.
**Code of Conduct**: Though mostly understood, it’s still worth mentioning. We don’t have rules per se, but we highly discourage the following topics of discussion because they are likely to incite anti-social responses - Sex, Politics, Religion. Please don’t mistake this as an attempt to limit your free speech rights but rather a guide to a place and time for appropriate discussions.
**Extra Wine**: After everyone has had their samples, we remove the pouring spouts and any remaining wine is poured freely to whomever wants it. I hate having leftover wine.
**Queen of Hearts**: The Queen of Hearts raffle is a fundraiser for the club and a Barnum and Bailey type extravaganza - minus the dancing ponies, clowns, and actual circus. Bring your ***cash*** as the Queen does not accept American Express or other plastic.
**After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still haven’t had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee.
Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends.
Sincerely, ***Paul Uttermohlen***,
