English Conversation (Bohnice, Praha 8)
Hi all! My name is Cara, and I am a native English speaker from America living in Prague. This a meet up for t**hose learning English as a second language** and want the **opportunity to practice**. It will be a fun and relaxed setting where we will play games to **promote English conversations** or have some kind of activity. This club will meet **every Monday evening.** The goal is for each person to walk away having learned new English words and have more confidence when speaking in English.
Please, bring some money if you want to purchase a coffee from Evento.
**This event is sponsored by a church.** The church that sponsors this English meet up is **CĂrkev bratrskĂĄ, Bohnice** [https://www.cbbohnice.cz](https://www.cbbohnice.cz/) . We want to live lives that are reflective of Jesus. Like Jesus we want to help others in meeting a practical need, in this case that would be speaking in English. At the end of the English club, we will extend an invite to anyone who is interested in exploring faith, wants to know more about Jesus, or wants to meet up to read from the Bible. However, we will never trick you into attending and will always be honest about the content of our meetings. *You do not have to attend religious events to be a part of English Club.*
Community Builders - Share & Learn
This meetup is hosted by Community Builders Prague, a group dedicated to bringing together individuals who are committed to creating thriving communities in Prague. We come together to expand our network, gain valuable insights on community coordination, event organizing, actor mapping, and explore opportunities for collaboration and empower each other.
This event is the regular touch-point happening every first Monday of the month.
We come together to share experiences, learn from each other, hear fun (or not so fun) stories and find opportunities to collaborate :)

Data Visualization Workshop: Storytelling with Data
**Data Visualization: Storytelling with Data**
Curious how to move beyond boring dashboards and misleading pie charts? In this handsâon workshop, weâll explore how clear visuals and strong narrative can turn raw numbers into insights that drive decisions.
Weâll cover the fundamentals of visual perception, chart selection, and layout, then show how to craft a cohesive story that gives your audience the right context at the right moment.
Weâll highlight practical, open resources and bestâpractice frameworks that shape the field of data visualization todayâfrom principles popularized by experts like Edward Tufte and Cole Nussbaumer Knaflic to communityâdriven guidelines for accessible, inclusive visual design.
Youâll see examples of effective redesigns, learn techniques for avoiding common pitfalls (like clutter, inappropriate chart types, and misleading scales), and get simple heuristics you can apply immediately.
Finally, weâll dive into dashboard design: how to align visuals to user goals, choose metrics that matter, and build layouts that guide attention without overwhelming. Bring a dataset or a dashboardâparticipants will share work in small groups and receive constructive, actionâoriented feedback they can use to improve clarity and impact.
**Speakers**:
* Summer Stickney
**Agenda**:
* 17:30 â 17:45 - Registration
* 17:45 - 18:30 Intro to data visualization and storytelling
* 18:30 â 20:00 Sharing and feedback, breakout groups
* 20:00 â 20:30 Wrapâup, Q&A
See you there!

Comedy Night + Open Mic
**Comedy Night + Open Mic + Freestyle**: We've hired a professional comedian to warm the group up for our open mic session. Members have been making me laugh for years and we've tossed around the idea of a comedy night / open mic. Well, It's time to step up and crack me up.
We'll start with Tristan Shae and a couple of his friends. Tristan is an alternative comic from Columbus, Ohio. A counselor by day, Tristan explores how comedy can improve mental health by telling jokes and stories that muse on how absurd life can be from squeaky clean topics to not so clean ones. Tristan produces the variety show Cheaper Than Therapy, hosts the weekly Problem Child Alt Comedy Open Mic at The Attic, and can be found engaging in all sorts of silliness around the city from stand up shows at The Nest Theater, The Attic, or The Funny Bone, to improv and sketch shows with various groups at various venues such as The Hashtag Comedy Club.
**On Freestyle night** \- just bring a bottle to share\. There is NO formal wine tasting like on other weeks\. Door charge is $10 \(cash or Venmo only please\)\. We may have some left over wines to clear out\! Glasses are provided\. Take Care\. See you there\.
**Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby. I am told that the Chase parking lot is safe after hours.
**Glasses**: âŚwill be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the EMPTY glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please do not make me hunt down your empty glass. Please be gentle, our glasses are fragile. Uh, they are made of glass!
**Food**: You are welcome to bring a snack to share. It is not required. Most people do though. If no one brings anything, there will be nothing.
**Code of Conduct**: Though mostly understood, itâs still worth mentioning. We donât have rules per se, but we highly discourage the following topics of discussion because they are likely to incite anti-social responses - Sex, Politics, Religion. Please donât mistake this as an attempt to limit your free speech rights but rather a guide to a place and time for appropriate discussions.
**After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still havenât had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee.
Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends.
Sincerely, ***Paul Uttermohlen***,
**Red 1 Realty**

Wine Tasting - Newcomers Night
This is "***New Members Night***." If you are one of the many folks on the fence about coming to your first wine tasting with the *Hilliard Wine Club*, this is the night to come. There will be many other new people, so you won't be alone. And the regulars will be there to help make you feel welcome. We're a relaxed and warm group. We hope to see you.
**SIDE NOTE:** New members are welcome to ALL our Friday night wine tastings, but this night is a special overture to those who don't want to feel that they are the only new person in the room. Don't worry. You won't be. And don't hesitate to RSVP to other events.
**OLD MEMBERS NOTE**: Hey Old Members! You're not excluded from this event. We expect to see you there to help make the new members feel welcome.
**Sample 4 different wines** this Friday for $15 (*Cash or Venmo only please*). Glasses are provided. Bring a snack to share. Bring a bottle to share if you care to. See all the details below for the Hilliard Wine Club Wine Tasting. In Person. In Real Life. Actual Wine from glass bottles with corks and everything.
**Wine**: Tastings will be $15 for four samples as always. And you are welcome to bring a bottle of your favorite wine to share with others. Participation in the wine tastings is optional. But since youâre going, I will buy enough wine to cover you. If you bring your own wine and do not participate in the tasting you will only pay $10 to cover the door charge.
**Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby.

**Extra Wine**: After everyone has had their samples, we remove the pouring spouts and any remaining wine is poured freely to whomever wants it. I hate having leftover wine.
**Queen of Hearts**: The Queen of Hearts raffle is a fundraiser for the club and a Barnum and Bailey type extravaganza - minus the dancing ponies, clowns, and actual circus. Bring your ***cash*** as the Queen does not accept American Express or other plastic.
**After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still havenât had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee.
