Jewellery being my main interest, I especially liked bead weaving. This passion has always been with me. Since I have been living in Belgium, the African style fascinates me as much as the Hungarian folk style. With my work, which manifests itself under the brand name Tulipane Design, I would like to offer a delicate mixture of Eastern Europe and Africa. The designs are created and woven bead by bead. It is a work of patience and a kind of meditation: the beads take time to be woven. Through my childhood trauma with an abusive father, I realised that creating is a crucial activity to find my balance and well-being and I think I am not alone with this. That's why my goal is not only to share my creations with other women but also to contribute to a social impact. Tulipane Design contributes with 1€/jewel sold to the Domestic Violence Centre in Belgium.’ More information about Tulipane Design: Instagram or Facebook @tulipanedesign or at https://www.tulipanedesign.eu/
🌇 Sunset Stroll: Tervuren Park to Rouge Cloître
🌇 Sunset Stroll: Tervuren Park to Rouge Cloître
Escape the city bustle and join us for a magical evening walk from the royal gardens of Tervuren, through the ancient Sonian Forest, ending at the picturesque Rouge Cloître. This hike is perfect for anyone looking to unwind after work, breathe some fresh forest air, and enjoy the golden hour colours that fade into twilight as we approach the destination. 🗺️ The Route We will start at the Tervuren Station (terminus of Tram 44). We’ll begin by walking through the formal gardens and ponds of Tervuren Park, enjoying the open views and the sunset light reflecting on the water. From there, we will dive into the Sonian Forest (Forêt de Soignes), walking under the canopy of the majestic beech cathedrals. The path will lead us gently downhill towards the historic Rouge Cloître (Red Closter), a 14th-century Augustinian priory nestled on the edge of the forest. 🕒 The Plan * Meeting Time: 15:20 * Meeting Point: Just outside the Tervuren Station (Terminus of Tram 44). * The Walk: We depart at 15:30 sharp. * The End: We aim to arrive at Rouge Cloître around 18:00. * Après-Walk: We can grab a nice hot or chill drink at the brasserie in Rouge Cloître (open until 7pm). 📋 Practical Details * Distance: Approximately 9 km. * Duration: \~2.5 hours walking time. * Pace: Casual to moderate. We wait for everyone, but please be comfortable walking this distance. * Terrain: Mostly flat/downhill with some unpaved forest paths. 🎒 What to Bring * Comfortable Shoes: Walking shoes or sneakers (trail runners are great if it has rained recently). * Water: Stay hydrated! * Layers: Evenings can get chilly in the forest. 🚇 Getting Home The walk ends at Rouge Cloître. From there, it is a short 10-15 minute walk to Herrmann-Debroux metro station (Line 5), Bus and Trams stops, which connects you easily back to the city center. Note: This event is free of charge. Participation is at your own risk. Please RSVP only if you intend to come so we don't leave anyone behind! See you on the trail! 🌳✨

Sunday Pool Evening + Language Exchange +Pizza
Sunday Pool Evening + Language Exchange +Pizza
A relaxed pool night and language exchange for curious, open-minded people in Brussels. Pool, drinks, and real conversation without the fake networking vibe. This is **not** a tournament and not a “watch one guy run the table” event. We rotate games, mix people, and keep it social. Use our whatsapp Chat also to RSVP and updates! https://chat.whatsapp.com/CArK9cobiSmCKRSKCGhFCJ ### **What to expect** * Casual pool * Rotations so everyone plays * **Language exchange**: EN/FR/NL/ES/IT (and whatever else shows up) Switch languages anytime, no pressure ### **Food** The venue is right next to **Dea’s Pizza**. During the night, feel free to grab a takeaway pizza and **eat it at Taverne Magnolia**. ### **Cost** * Everyone pays their own drinks and table time * If we share tables, we split costs fairly (1 game 1 Euro) ### **Safety and respect policy (non-negotiable)** We’ve had reports of creeps at other Brussels meetups bothering women. That does not happen at our events. * The host will actively keep an eye on the vibe, especially **women’s comfort and safety** * **No harassment, no sexual comments, no persistent flirting after a “no,” no invasive questions, no following people around** * If someone feels unsafe or uncomfortable, go to the host directly. The host will intervene. ### **Meet point** Meet inside near the pool tables at **Taverne Magnolia**. If you’re late, post in the event chat so rotations don’t start without you.

Wine Tasting - Newcomers Night
Wine Tasting - Newcomers Night
This is "***New Members Night***." If you are one of the many folks on the fence about coming to your first wine tasting with the *Hilliard Wine Club*, this is the night to come. There will be many other new people, so you won't be alone. And the regulars will be there to help make you feel welcome. We're a relaxed and warm group. We hope to see you. **SIDE NOTE:** New members are welcome to ALL our Friday night wine tastings, but this night is a special overture to those who don't want to feel that they are the only new person in the room. Don't worry. You won't be. And don't hesitate to RSVP to other events. **OLD MEMBERS NOTE**: Hey Old Members! You're not excluded from this event. We expect to see you there to help make the new members feel welcome. **Sample 4 different wines** this Friday for $15 (*Cash or Venmo only please*). Glasses are provided. Bring a snack to share. Bring a bottle to share if you care to. See all the details below for the Hilliard Wine Club Wine Tasting. In Person. In Real Life. Actual Wine from glass bottles with corks and everything. **Wine**: Tastings will be $15 for four samples as always. And you are welcome to bring a bottle of your favorite wine to share with others. Participation in the wine tastings is optional. But since you’re going, I will buy enough wine to cover you. If you bring your own wine and do not participate in the tasting you will only pay $10 to cover the door charge. **Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby. **Glasses**: …will be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please be gentle, our glasses are fragile. Uh, they are made of glass! **Food**: You are welcome to bring a snack to share. It is not required. Most people do though. If no one brings anything, there will be nothing. **Code of Conduct**: Though mostly understood, it’s still worth mentioning. We don’t have rules per se, but we highly discourage the following topics of discussion because they are likely to incite anti-social responses - Sex, Politics, Religion. Please don’t mistake this as an attempt to limit your free speech rights but rather a guide to a place and time for appropriate discussions. **Extra Wine**: After everyone has had their samples, we remove the pouring spouts and any remaining wine is poured freely to whomever wants it. I hate having leftover wine. **Queen of Hearts**: The Queen of Hearts raffle is a fundraiser for the club and a Barnum and Bailey type extravaganza - minus the dancing ponies, clowns, and actual circus. Bring your ***cash*** as the Queen does not accept American Express or other plastic. **After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still haven’t had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee. Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends. Sincerely, ***Paul Uttermohlen***, **Red 1 Realty** *Your Hilliard Wine Club Host*

Valentines Eve (Galentine's anybody?)
**Valentines Eve**: Love and friendship pair quite naturally with almost any wine. Go ahead. Give it a try at the Hilliard Wine Club Valentines Eve event. Pay no attention to the superstitious guy in the corner who keeps murmuring comments about it being Friday the 13th too. (Volunteers with decorations show up at least 15 minutes early to set the scene for a pleasant relaxing evening. Reminder - this is also another "Freestyle Night.") **On Freestyle night** \- just bring a bottle to share\. There is NO formal wine tasting like on other weeks\. Door charge is $10 \(cash or Venmo only please\)\. We may have some left over wines to clear out\! Glasses are provided\. Take Care\.
