Our shadow, or dark side, acts as a storehouse for the unacceptable aspects of our personality which we pretend don't exist. As a result we repress these negative personal qualities out of our awareness and into the unconscious which results in the blocking of our spiritual path. To successfully move along the spiritual path to higher states of consciousness the seeker must have the courage and will to identify, own and integrate the unfavorable aspects of their personality. This lecture will cover the insights and techniques needed to do this valuable and important spiritual work from a Jungian and Theosophical perspective. **Tony Petcopoulos** is a national lecturer and has been a member of the Theosophical society for fifty years. He has studied the ageless wisdom at the Theosophical headquarters at Adyar in India and attended the wisdom school at Krotona in the United States. Tony has studied Vipassana meditation under Goenka in India and Buddhism in the Himalayas under Buddhist Lamas. Tony is a retired Social Worker who worked for various state and federal government departments in their employee assistance programs. His main expertise focused on stress, burnout, and critical incident stress debriefing. We're back (again)! At the Boyd Community Hub, Southbank. We'll aim to have 30 minutes of introduction and tutorial, with a 6pm start to our first game, so please be ON TIME. **What to Expect:** Blood on the Clocktower is a social deduction game requiring a storyteller to take a roughly a dozen people through a series of "days and nights" where townspeople try to identify and hunt down a *demon* before they become the hunted. **Beginners welcome!** You don't need to know how to play **AT ALL**, so please invite a friend, we will run a tutorial for those who need it. **NOTE** BOTC requires fluent English, the crux of this game is communication and deception. **2 Strike Policy** Late-leavers: attendees who cancel within 24 hours of the event. No-shows: attendees who mark themselves as “going” but don’t turn up. Someone who does either of these once will be forgiven but flagged. On a second offence, they will be removed. Long-time regulars will be afforded some leniency. Legitimate reasons will be considered for leniency.

Every Thursday at 3:00pm there are 5 places to play Call of Cthulhu. Sometimes it is the classic 1920's, sometimes modern and sometimes regency. What is guaranteed is mystery and horror galore! Follow EGAD's discord to find out what's the story for the session. What is Call of Cthulhu, I hear you ask? It is often a mystery and always horror game where you are a human fighting against horrors beyond your comprehension. Using your wits, your luck and skills you maybe able to survive. There are always pregenerated characters for you to use. Dice are provided as well. However, if you are familiar with the game, feel free to bring a few to try. This is intended for folks to be able to continue their characters from week to week if that is what you would like. These sessions are beginner friendly but alas, the storyline punches won't be held. Sessions are $25 and run for 3 hours with a break in-between. Drinks are onsite but feel free to byo drinks and food.

This novel is set over two days in a bleak dystopian Hungarian town. The characters are superbly written and eerily familiar. The New Yorker calls The Melancholy of Resistance "comedy of apocalypse, a book about a God that not only failed but didn't even turn up for the exam." "Demanding" and "pessimistic" the reward comes from "its extraordinary, stretched, self-recoiling sentences, which are marvels of a loosely punctuated stream of consciousness". With page-long sentences and 30 page paragraphs the translator has pulled off herculean task of rendering this in perfect English. Although an effort, it sounds a rewarding read. Since starting this book club a few years ago we have formed a nice core membership. If you haven't come yet, please look out for the books on the table, pull up a chair, order a wine and join us. We like to hear what everyone has to say and enjoy the conversation, we're not cliquey at all! By popular demand, the group wanted to read and discuss the semi-autobiographical novel by Henri-Pierre Roche, that inspired the Truffaut movie we watched last year. The book is available through the Columbus Library's interlibrary loan system. They reported there are twenty-eight copies available in the state of Ohio.
