**Come join us to enjoy and share a session inspired by yoga and the energy of the lunar cycle.**
Each week, we explore a different practice that aligns with the current moon phase (for example, Full Moon: gratitude; Waning Moon: letting go…)
The heart of the session is the yoga practice, but we also include a deep meditation of at least 10 minutes, and we close the session with therapeutic writing or artistic expression as a way to integrate the experience.
We are a small group of up to eight people, creating a safe and open space where, through the body and movement, we gently move closer to self-awareness and inner peace.

January '26 - Burning the Old Year
Let’s not rush into 2026! Instead, let’s pause in the quiet, short days of winter, reflect on the year that has passed, and close 2025 with gratitude and presence.
In this circle, we’ll draw inspiration from **myth, the Andean teachings of Ayni** (sacred reciprocity and giving thanks before beginning anew), and poetry by **Naomi Shihab Nye and Susan Rich**. Together, we’ll use guided journaling prompts to let go, release what no longer serves us, and create space for renewal.
To close the circle, we’ll craft a small **prayer bundle** with our writing, seeds (symbolizing intention), and herbs (supports) as a take-home ritual to honor endings and invite new beginnings.
This is a gentle, reflective space for anyone who wants to pause and step into the new year with intention.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Coffee Connections
A casual (but coordinated) coffee break to meet new friends, take a Zoom break, and get your AM caffeine fix.
Stop by for a few minutes or stay the whole time. Bring a friend or wander in solo. Come for the coffee and company, or just bring a book to read while surrounded by other in-real-life, community-seeking humans. Come by every Friday, or just when you happen to be in town. Make it whatever you need it to be that week. It's not an \*event\* per se, but we hope these Friday meet-ups can become a fixture of the bookshop!
Gathering spot will be in the downstairs area of the bookshop (near the Community Library). Coffee and tea are 1.50€ and can be purchased at the cash register upstairs. Find more info on our Instagram (@backstorybookshop) or website (www.backstorybookshop.com).
Arty Sunday: Helen Levitt at KBr

Arty Sundays are back! And for the first one of 2026, we're going to the Helen Levit exhibition. The plan is to see the exhibition and then, if you fancy, grab a drink in the area.
Helen Levitt (1913–2009) began photographing her native New York in the late 1930s, capturing images that reflected life in the city’s poorest neighborhoods, particularly children and their street games. She did so with an unfailing instinct for conveying, beyond childhood scenes, everything in everyday life that contains emotion, mystery, or humor. Her work soon earned the recognition it deserved, and in 1943 MoMA in New York organized her first solo exhibition. Over the course of her career, she also devoted significant attention to film.
A socially engaged artist, Levitt was one of the first women to carve out a professional path in photography. The exhibition (nearly 200 photographs organized into nine sections) offers a comprehensive overview of her entire career.

The first few weeks of January can often feel like a rush to "*do more*" and "*be more*." Our first **Women’s Coffee Networking** of 2026 in Barcelona is designed to be the opposite: a soft landing into the year and a space to define your own path alongside a supportive community of professional women.
This isn’t about rigid goal-setting or elevator pitches. It’s about meaningful connection and honest reflection over a warm cup of coffee in a beautiful corner of the city.
**The Highlight: The "Reflection & Intention" Cards**
To guide this casual get-together, we will be using exclusive conversation cards, designed by Dora specifically for this event. These cards are crafted to help us navigate the transitions of a new year with curiosity rather than stress. We’ll explore:
* **Defining your "North Star":** What do you want your professional and personal life to feel like this year?
* **Purposeful Focus:** What are you choosing to prioritize and what are you choosing to let go of?
* **Shared Wisdom:** Learning from the collective experiences of women navigating careers, creativity and life changes.
**WHAT TO EXPECT**
**A Curated Setting:** A hand-picked, cozy coffee spot in the heart of Barcelona.
**Guided Small-Group Chats:** Meaningful prompts that skip the small talk and get to the heart of things.
**Authentic Networking:** Build genuine relationships with fellow entrepreneurs, creatives and corporate professionals.
**Clarity & Connection:** Leave feeling grounded, inspired and a little less alone in your journey.
**THE DETAILS**
**When:** Sunday\, January 11th\, 2026 \| 02:00 PM
**Where:** A secret, cozy location (to be revealed to participants a few days before the event).
**Support Fee:** Your ticket includes your first coffee or tea. This contribution supports the design of our materials, the organization of the community, and helps us ensure an intimate, high-quality experience for everyone.
✨ **Returning Members:** As always, thank you for being part of this journey! Don't forget to use your 20% loyalty code.
**Come as you are.** No need to have the whole year figured out yet. Let’s start this chapter together with intention and a warm cup of coffee. ☕
Seats are limited to maintain an intimate atmosphere. If you feel called to start your year with connection, we can’t wait to welcome you!

Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington.
The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo.
Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine.
We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you.
The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly.
Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome.
The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit.
Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times.
Feel free to message me privately wth any questions and/ or concerns you may have.
Happy writing!

Bad Girls Book Club January 2026
**Our January novel is: Once Upon a Wardrobe by Patti Callahan**
**This month's featured novel is a 20th-century biographical fiction, coming-of-age, historical romance, women’s fiction, world literature, student biography, heartfelt, magic, and feel-good novel. The book is 311 pages in print and 7 hours and 8 minutes on audiobook.**
1950: Margaret Devonshire (Megs) is a seventeen-year-old student of mathematics and physics at Oxford University. When her beloved eight-year-old brother asks Megs if Narnia is real, logical Megs tells him it's just a book for children, and certainly not true. Homebound due to his illness, and remaining fixated on his favorite books, George presses her to ask the author of the recently released novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe a question: "Where did Narnia come from?"
Despite her fear about approaching the famous author, who is a professor at her school, Megs soon finds herself taking tea with C. S. Lewis and his own brother Warnie, begging them for answers.
Rather than directly telling her where Narnia came from, Lewis encourages Megs to form her own conclusion as he shares the little-known stories from his own life that led to his inspiration. As she takes these stories home to George, the little boy travels farther in his imagination than he ever could in real life.
After holding so tightly to logic and reason, her brother's request leads Megs to absorb a more profound truth: "The way stories change us can't be explained. It can only be felt. Like love."
