COSTA Weekend Write-Together
We're hosting another in-person writing session - back in COSTA Dawson so we can sit together comfortably.
What is a write-together? It's a couple of focused writing sprints (30 mins each) with breaks in between for for snacks and chats. It's a chance to get some writing done and to meet other writers.
All are welcome, old hands and newbies alike, and you can write whatever you like.
To find us, go downstairs and seek out the people with laptops and notebooks.
Arrival - March 2026 Book Club
The March book is the the short story "Story of your Life" by Ted Chiang.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/45450254-arrival
It forms part of two books. Arrival (because of its connection to the movie of the same name) and Stories of Your Life and Others. You can read it in either. And probably some good other short stories in either edition that would be worth reading.
This will give people even more time to read our April book club, which will be massive...

Page to Screen - Project Hail Mary
Hi all.
We propose to see Project Hail Mary at the Lighthouse on the 22nd March at 3pm. A few of us have read and enjoyed the book (from the same author of the novel the Martian), but the film has gotten decent reviews, so it should be worth seeing either way.
Details and tickets here:

Optional drinks, food etc before/after the film :)
The Literati Dublin
Hello Everyone!
Let's read something before coming to the event. It can be a few pages from a book, an article, a poem, an advertisement, a joke, a recipe, a quote, social media content - anything you find interesting. We meet and chat about it, as a starting point of conversation.
Please feel free to bring books :)
đ Silent Reading & Socialising đş
## Details
The title of the event is a paradox! Read in silence and then discuss with like-minded folks! :-)
đ **How does this work?**
We will meet in the Bartley's Restaurant area from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM for silent reading and followed up by discussion. **During silent reading, you're expected to remain silent and read.** Please bring your headphones and refrain from the discussion during the first one hour in the area.
đĽ **Socialising**
After an hour, at 8:15 PM, we'll discuss and socialize about the book you're reading. We highly encourage you to move between tables and strike up conversations with fellow book lovers. These discussions about literature and reading recommendations are often the highlight of the event!
Feel free to join at any point during the event.
The event is indoors, hopefully, we can continue the tradition of the silent reading in the winter!
**đ Helpful Tips and Notes**
* Bring headphones to block out surrounding noise
* I will post a comment on the event page when I arrive to indicate where we're seated, so everyone can find us
* If you prefer to skip the silent reading, you can join directly at the bar at 8:15 PM
â ď¸**Something Happened?**
If something unpleasant happened to you, it may happen to others. It may be small but don't hesitate to reach out to me.
Looking forward to meeting you all đ

Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington.
The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo.
Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine.
Weâll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you.
The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly.
Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome.
The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit.
Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for allâthe venue can be busy at times.
Feel free to message me privately wth any questions and/ or concerns you may have.
Happy writing!

Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for March is "Our Bodies, Ourselves"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
