Thanks to everyone who joined for the latest event on Zora Neale Hurston’s *Their Eyes Were Watching God*. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend myself as I was ill, but I’m very glad to hear that the discussion went well. A special thanks to Clark for sending me the information about which book was chosen as the next one. The next book to read is the Greek classic *[Zorba the Greek](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zorba_the_Greek)* (1946) by [Nikos Kazantzakis](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikos_Kazantzakis). My apologies for putting the next event up later than usual. Set on the island of Crete, the novel follows an intellectual narrator who meets the larger-than-life Alexis Zorba — a man driven by instinct, passion, and a deep love of life. What unfolds is both a philosophical and deeply human story about freedom, friendship, and what it means to truly live. A short description of the book reads: *A classic of modern Greek literature, Zorba the Greek contrasts the life of the mind with the life of action, as the narrator is drawn into Zorba’s vibrant, impulsive worldview. We’ll start by heading together from Nørreport to Vedbæk, then make our way through forest paths into Dyrehaven, ending in Klampenborg. This route offers a great mix of peaceful trails and open landscapes, with a high chance of spotting deer along the way. See if it’s true for you at 10AM on Saturday mornings. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: 10:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros. 10:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour. 11:10 - chat / take off / keep writing. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11A-11:30ish. Writing is very solitary.
