Sawcut Gorge, Isolation and Zoo huts Seaward Kaikouras. Three nights four days.
This route was closed because of the Kaikoura earthquake, but has now recently reopened.
Park up at the end of Ure Road. Earthquake damage means the Upper Ure road is permanently closed. Now the route starts 3km lower, meaning an extra hour in the river. This is an impromptu trip where I am cadging a lift with a friend who is passing through, so I can't offer any transport. Therefore you must make your own way to the end of Ure Rd and the new start of the track, then your own way back out. I'll be dropped off in Kaikoura where I plan to do a bit of whale watching/hire a sea kayak if the weather is suitable, then plan to get a bus up to Picton 7 or 8 Feb. You are very welcome to join me in Kaikoura.
Sat tramp road end through Sawcut Gorge to Isolation hut for the night. Spectacular scenery, wet feet.
Sun to Brian Boru hut for lunch, then Zoo Hut overnight. This day involves a very steep climb behind Isolation hut, then a steep shingle descent to Brian Boru. 6 - 7 hours slow and steady
Mon return same way to Isolation hut. Slow shingle climb up, and steep descent to Isolation hut.
Tues back to the road end and our vehicles.
This trip is suited to a party of four. I will add people manually when I am reassured you have your own transportation as I can't not provide any. Do your own research, know where you are going, be properly equipped. You are responsible for your own safety.

Free In-person Meeting: Unwanted Emotions & Loneliness, How to Get Over Them
This is an in-person meeting.
Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation donât just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance.
Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you.
The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life.
For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues.
So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them?
That is what this meeting will be all about.
Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life.

Men's Group meetup
**The idea for this group is to build a community where men can gather together and build connections & learn and grow from each other.**
How we start each meeting is by each of us checking in with our "roses and thorns" aka what are the good things and the bad things going on in your life recently?
Then we will go into a topic discussion.

Plus, the opportunity to get involved, connect with others and help those in need.
