​Kathrin Gardhouse (Senior Associate, AI Governance at The Future Society) walks through what other jurisdictions are doing to regulate AI and asks what Canada should take from each. Given that Canada doesn't host frontier developers, has a market less than 10% the size of the EU's, and recently caved on its digital services tax under US pressure, what's actually on the table? Kathrin argues that Canada may not need to focus on regulating frontier developers, but could ensure there's no safe haven here, team up with the EU, and prepare for the most severe AI risks through resilience-building and fiscal shock planning.
