Workshop - Web service integration and effective data handling

Consuming data from a web service is a standard practice for mobile applications. In this workshop, we'll explore techniques to perform such integration in Android. We'll also explore how to handle large data sets effectively, both from a network and UI perspective.

This workshop assumes Android working knowledge. You must understand the basics (e.g. the development tools, layouts, activity lifecycle) in order to benefit from the workshop.

Bring your laptop for coding practice. Please install all the necessary Android development tools prior to the workshop.

I'm looking for volunteer T.A.'s for the workshop. The T.A.'s role is to assist attendees throughout the workshop. We can handle a larger group if there are enough TA's. Email me (toronto.android@gmail.com) if you're interested to assist.
