Social Meta: Summer BBQ Party (Free, Putlock) & Karaoke Afterwards

THIS IS AN EVENT FROM INDEPENDENT HOSTS FROM THIS GROUP

We are a non profit community that focuses on maximizing social interaction in the daunting GTA.

We were formerly known as the “Wine and Cheese” meetup, a long funny story behind that name.

We coordinate plans for all sorts of events, balanced between introverts and extroverts alike:

1. Themed: Tech Talks, Philosophy or Volunteer Events
2. Pop Culture: Cosplay Conventions or Boardgame Nights
3. Performative: Karaoke or Rave/Dance or Beach Volleyball
4. General: BBQ Putlocks, Parties or Clubbing

We do this through various means: scraping platforms for events, spreadsheets for curation, planning via Google Calendars,whatsapp communities for coordination, etc … it makes sense if you don’t think about it.

So who's feeling classy!?
Come socialize and relax in the sun after a long week with some chill like-minded individuals

We will meet at the posted time but not strict on timing and I will post the exact location via a google maps marker on the day of when we set up.

We the hosts will bring some basic equipment such as a BBQ with some food to cook, cups/plates, picnic blanket, some games, a speaker for music

Everything is BYOB so bring your own alcohol, wine opener, snacks, plates, cutlery, picnic blanket, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, etc
Feel free to bring extra games or even musical instruments if you wanna play, we have some people who love to jam at the park!

After the main party we always book after plans at a local venue such as Karaoke, Billiards or just a bar for those who wanna stay later.

Please be sure to pick up any garbage as you leave to keep our park looking as good as we found it
Lastly, if anyone is acting inappropriately or un-classy at an event, we will have to suspend them from future events so let's use our common sense guys.

Q: Who is hosting?
A: You can look for Simar (the john lennon knockoff looking guy) or Elie (owner of the dog)

Q: Can I join later than the starting time?
A: Yes of course come and go as your heart desires

Q: What should I bring?
A: Anything, even if it's a bottle of Apple Juice, orange juice, a box of crackers, etc. I understand some people don't drink but as long as you try I'm happy

Q: What if it's supposed to rain or bad weather?
A: If rain is in the forecast I will usually decide and give an update on the day, as much can change from hour to hour. Check the event discussions and your email folder for updates.
(Also even if cancelled some people may still come anyways so check comments on page to see what people are saying)

Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: It's a park, so there are no restrictions

Q: How much does it cost to attend?
A: FREE! (Just bring some food to contribute to the potlock vibes)
