Come and hang out with Toronto's creative XR community. Together we will experience a selection of Immersive XR Music Videos on the STYLY Platform, screen Sina Dolati's recent works, and discuss the evolution of music videos in these metaverse times.
We will also take some time to introduce you to the STYLY Studio creator tools. Please bring your laptops and mobile devices if you would like to participate in some creative learning/ experimentation.
Sina Dolati is an Iranian-Canadian film and immersive media maker based in Toronto, with a focus on live action narratives and music videos. His 360/VR narrative short film Lily’s Day was an official selection at Oscar Qualifying festivals Nashville Film Festival 2021 and deadCenter Film Festival 2021, and his 360/VR music video ADHD - Säye Skye premiered at the Geneva International Film Festival 2021, later screening at the Oscar Qualifying Florida Film Festival 2022. Sina later created a 2D non-VR version of the ADHD music video for a cinematic output, which got nominated in the Best Direction category at Berlin Commercial 2022, alongside artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone, and went on to screen as part of Leeds and Reading music festivals in August 2022, which featured headliners like Arctic Monkeys and Megan Thee Stallion.
