Polaris Music Prize presents:
Polaris is dedicated to celebrating the art of music. It brings together music lovers, artists and a dynamic jury to discover, discuss and award the best in Canadian music based on artistic merit.
The Polaris Gala is our winner reveal event, where we honour the best Canadian music albums of the year with live musical performances from the nominated acts on the Polaris Short List. The winner is determined by an 11-member Polaris Grand Jury selected from the greater Polaris juror pool. Winner receives $30,000. All the bands are simply outstanding.

There are the Juno Awards--and the Polaris Prize...$30,000.
***Important note for those unfamiliar with the Polaris process. We have no idea who'll be performing at the 2025 Polaris Gala just yet, and won't know until July when they announce the '10 nominee Short List.'
But we will see 8-10 upcoming bands (already on CBC!) appear on Massey Hall stage--each performing 1-2 songs/tunes.
From 2024 Polaris event we attended--many of the performers have recently won 2025 Juno Awards in Vancouver.
***Most of the Short List usually performs at the Gala, often creating unique, one-time-only performances for the event. ***Vibe-wise, think of the energy of those old MuchMusic Video Award block parties (except less "teenager," more "adult" and "art"), complete with lots of bands and artists hanging out throughout the building, lots of people finding an excuse to dress boldly, and a very real, excitable nervous energy about who might win.
Can you make this PARTY!!?? Up until last year, this event has only be open to 'music industry folks'
