Tea with Mara, meaning to invite Mara (your ‘demons’) for tea, is set in this ‘spirited’ space, embodying Japanese Canadian and Buddhist mythology, practices and philosophy. This interdisciplinary collaboration between dance/theatre and music, animates themes of suffering, pleasure, transformation, and the interconnection between the past, present, and future.
