6:00 – 6:20 – ANGELL GALLERY, 12 Ossington VIEW I’m an Adult Now, large transitional works by Toronto artist Kim Dorland, celebrated for his gonzo-thick and wild painting style. Look online at his previous work to see what his colour-range was like before this show which is primarily RED, an unusual choice for depicting his loved ones and nature, but Kim is never “usual.” We’ll DISCUSS the work and VIEW three additional exhibitions currently at this fabulous commercial art gallery which is setting the pace in the Art and Design district.

6:30 - 7:15-CENTRE FOR ADDICTION AND MENTAL HEALTH 100 and 101 Stokes Street (Stokes is the newly named continuation of Lower Ossington. It only serves CAMH.) MEET Workman Arts dynamos Lisa Brown, Exec. Artistic Dir. and founder + Chris Mitchell, Visual Arts Mgr. for a behind-the-scenes TOUR of the artworks, including three superb mosaic murals created by clients of Workman’s art therapy program, on the new campus of CAMH. During Mental Health Awareness Week we’ll also get a TOUR of the massive new campus and learn about award-winning Workman Art’s many off-site projects including videos currently in the subways, an art show opening at Propeller (in which client artists and Propellor’s regular membership are exhibiting together as a show of solidarity) opening Oct. 10, and Rendezvous with Madness film festival, highlighted by film about artist William Kurelek.

7:25- 7:40 DAVID KAYE GALLERY, 1092 QSW MEET Toronto painter and intriguing personality Paul Wysmyk on the occasion of his opening tonight. Paul’s current acrylics evoke a Matissean order and pleasure in graphic forms and visual play.
