This group is for anyone who would like to learn more about building a community of private homes and shared spaces in Toronto.

Do you value your privacy but would like to be immersed in a community of like-minded people? Tired of the lack of connection and support in the big city life? Want to live greener and leave less of a footprint on our planet? Looking for a supportive place to raise your kids and/or grow old ? Would you like to find a great place where your kids can play inside or out without a worry, just like you did when you grew up?

What is cohousing?

"Cohousing is an intentional community of private homes or apartments clustered around shared space. Each attached or single family home has traditional amenities, including a private kitchen. Shared spaces typically feature a common house, which may include a large kitchen and dining area, guest/caregiver suite(s), laundry, workshop and recreational spaces."

Joining requirements and privacy concerns:

To join this group, you will need to have or create a profile that includes a real picture of yourself and your first name. This is because this group is meant to help people actually meet others with similar interests, which is harder to do when you don't know someone's name and can't recognize them from a picture. Join requests that don't include this info will remain "pending" or be declined.

Privacy: This group is set to "private," which means that only other members can see your profile or any info about events and who's attending them.
