Session Details:

The session is a guide for data professionals/DBAs that are not familiar with Columnstore indexes and contains the following:

1. Introduction to Columnstore indexes
2. Determining which tables would benefit from conversion to Columnstore
3. Evaluating the pros and cons of the conversion to Columnstore, by assessing benefits, effort, and risk, in order to determine the viability.
4. Implementation using my own generic solution that migrates the desired table to Columnstore, which can be found here:

Speaker Bio:
Ivan Radchenko has more than 10 years of experience with Microsoft Data Platform, and he is primarily a performance tuning expert. He started as a SQL Server 2008 DBA, moved on to working as a BI Data Engineer. During this time, he managed and developed a 50 TB SQL Server 2016 data warehouse, where I gained a lot of experience implementing Columnstore indexes. He works at Madeira Data Solutions.
