  • 7:30 PM End

Where: Online via Microsoft team

Session Details:
In this session, we will explore the foundational elements of Snowflake—databases, tables, and views—and how they work together to enable efficient data storage, organization, and querying. Snowflake’s cloud-native architecture introduces a highly scalable and flexible environment for managing structured data, making it a popular choice for modern data-driven organizations.

We’ll begin by discussing ‘databases’ in Snowflake, which serve as logical containers for schemas, tables, and views, enabling effective data governance and security. Next, we’ll dive into ‘tables’, examining the various types Snowflake offers; such as standard, temporary, and transient tables and how its micro-partitioning technology optimizes storage and query performance for large datasets.

Finally, we’ll cover ‘views’, which provide a virtual representation of data for simplifying complex queries. We’ll compare ‘standard views’ with ‘materialized views’, highlighting their benefits in performance and use cases.

Attendees will gain a clear understanding of how to leverage Snowflake’s databases, tables, and views to design scalable, efficient data solutions that suit a wide range of business needs. This session is ideal for data professionals from beginner to experienced level to build their knowledge of Snowflake’s architecture and enhance their data management practices.
