What we’re about

I started the Toronto Edition 1 Romance Society because I saw so many amazing people in the city who were tired of swipe culture and shallow connections. They wanted something real, something meaningful, but didn’t have the right space to meet like minded singles who were on the same page. I wanted to create a community where genuine relationships could grow naturally, through real conversation and shared experiences, not forced interactions or awkward first date pressure.

We’re proudly based right here in Toronto, with events spread across the city from cozy downtown cafes to relaxed outdoor meetups in the Annex and Riverdale. Whether you're a lifelong local or new to the 6ix, you’ll find events in convenient spots that make it easy to show up and connect without the hassle of long commutes.

We encourage members to come to at least one event a month if possible, because real connections take time and consistency. You don’t have to be the most outgoing person in the room just willing to show up, be present, and open to meeting someone new. The more you participate, the more you’ll get out of it, and we love seeing familiar faces building real bonds over time.

Our events are designed to be fun and low pressure, mixing social mixers with interactive activities like trivia nights, wine tastings, cooking classes, and group walks along the Waterfront. Instead of speed dating or awkward icebreakers, we focus on shared experiences that spark real conversation because nothing connects people quite like laughing over a burnt risotto or debating the best pizza spot in the city.

If you’re ready to meet other singles in Toronto who are truly looking for something meaningful, this is your group. We’re all about creating space for authentic connection in a city that can sometimes feel too fast and too busy. Come as you are, with an open heart and a sense of adventure, and let’s build something real together one great conversation at a time.
