2 Topics: GitHub Actions AND Azure Test Plans
Details
TOPIC 1: GitHub Actions (~45-60 minutes)
GitHub Actions is a new way to automate a lot of things on GitHub including (but not limited to) CI/CD. GitHub Actions makes it possible to create simple, yet powerful pipelines and automate software compilation and delivery. Whether you want to build a container, deploy a web service, or automate welcoming new users to your open source projects—there's an action for that.
Max Yermakhanov will cover how (and why) you should be using GitHub actions for your testing and continuous integration. He will walk us though how use existing default and 3rd party actions as well as how to write your own custom actions, and combine them to create a custom workflow to build, test, package, release, or deploy any code project on GitHub. Come out and learn about GitHub actions.
TOPIC 2: Azure Test Plans (~45-60 minutes)
Dave Lloyd has been helping clients with testing tools for most of his career. He will walk us through the best practices of using Azure Test Plans manual testing. No slides, just demo’s and practical experience. This is a 3 part presentation first we’ll talk about Test cases and how they fit into Azure DevOps. Then the best way to create a Test Plan, and lastly how to execute that test plan and report the results back to the rest of the team and management.
Presentation starts at 6pm. Online meeting will open around 5:30pm for those who want to network. See you there.
