Main Text: Deity, Cosmos and Man by Geoffrey Farthing
If the above link is broken, paste this into bar for free PDF: https://www.theosophy.world/sites/default/files/ebooks/DeityCosmosAndMan_GFarthing.pdfThis third part of our Intro to Theosophy series turns to Deity, Cosmos and Man by Geoffrey Farthing, a clear and reliable guide to the foundational teachings of Theosophy as originally presented by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and her Adept teachers.
This study explores a living, intelligent universe governed by unity, law, and vast evolutionary cycles, and examines how the human being reflects these same cosmic principles within their own inner constitution. Emphasis is placed on Theosophy not as a belief system, but as a coherent body of knowledge—offering insight into consciousness, post-death states, hierarchies of beings, and the deeper purpose of human evolution.Alongside discussion and reflection, the group will explore guided experiential exercises designed to support awareness, perception, and integration.
The intention is to:
- Develop a clear understanding of core Theosophical principles
- Explore the relationship between cosmos, consciousness, and the human constitution
- Encourage experiential insight alongside study and dialogue
- Support inner balance, discernment, and conscious self-development
This class is suitable for:
- Students continuing from Parts 1 and 2 of the Intro to Theosophy series
- Those interested in Theosophy, cosmology, and human evolution
- Participants seeking a grounded, psychologically oriented approach to spiritual study
- Anyone curious about consciousness, meditation, and the deeper structure of reality
No prior experience with Theosophy, yoga, or meditation is required—only curiosity, openness, and a willingness to explore thoughtfully.

Pisces embodies the Christ consciousness that descends into matter to redeem and save all forms, completing the zodiacal journey with sacrificial service

### Compassion and Sacrifice
Profound sensitivity and self-sacrifice characterize Pisces, as the initiate willingly enters the depths of human suffering to serve and uplift humanity
## Planetary Rulers

Esoteric Ruler (Soul): Pluto - The death-dealer and initiator, transforming consciousness and revealing the power of the soul
Hierarchical Ruler (Spiritual): Pluto - Governing from the highest level, Pluto brings death to desire and the birth of spiritual willNote: Neptune focuses Pisces energy for mass humanity, conferring exquisite sensitivity, profound compassion, and complete merging in spiritual identification.

# The Labour of Hercules ~The Capture of the Red Cattle at Geryon
In this final labor, Hercules must journey to the island of Erytheia to capture the red cattle of the three-bodied monster Geryon. This labor symbolizes the gathering and salvaging of desire-nature and its transformation into aspiration. The three bodies of Geryon represent the integrated personality (physical, emotional, mental), while the red cattle symbolize the lower desires that must be rounded up and driven toward the light.
Hercules accomplishes this task by slaying Geryon, demonstrating that the disciple must overcome the illusion of separation. Through this labor, Pisces learns that all must be saved, nothing can be lost, and that service to the whole requires the redemption of matter itself. It is the completion of the zodiacal journey—the death of the personal self and the birth of the World Savior.Read the full text here (free PDF): https://www.bailey.it/files/Labours-of-Hercules.pdf
