Volatility is a Function of Liquidity - Picking Your Spots in the FX Market.
In this live presentation, Chris Lori, CTA and Institutional Fund Manager, will discuss the mechanics of liquidity in the institutional back office and its delivery to the broader FX market. Chris will share how the investment bank clients FX positioning affects liquidity and price movement, and how price defines his own trading model. There will be a focus on volatility, price relationships and reaction points that would be of interest to short or longer term traders. Chris will also shed light on the process one can engage to build a more intimate understanding of specific price behaviors. Whether you trade using mathematical models, price behaviors, or other, the information coming from an experienced FX asset manager will be of interest to all traders.
About Chris Lori
Chris Lori is a CTA, CFTC registered and member NFA. Chris trades through London and Singapore private banks and clearing firms where he manages funds of private clients, as well as his own. With thirteen years experience trading foreign exchange, Chris notes he has never worked for a large bank or institution, but maintains the highest level of experience in spot, carry, structured options and forwards for FX trading and positioning in the institutional environment. Chris has educational background in securities and began focused study on foreign exchange in 1998, started trading in 2000 and managing funds in 2003. Chris specializes in AUD/JPY and focuses on GBP, EUR and USD, otherwise.
Previous to Chris' FX career, he competed in four Olympic Winter Games in the sport of bobsledding, won the Overall World Cup title, twenty two world cup medals and nine crystal globes for Overall World Cup final standings and was twice an Olympic Torch Bearer. Chris has been a model athlete in his native of Canada.
About Giuseppe Basile
Giuseppe Basile, CMT is the trader, analyst and mentor. He learned stocks, futures and forex trading between 2001 and 2006. The worked with several mentors from 2007 onwards and specialized in the study of the effects of classes algorithms in high-volume, modern markets.
With over 18,000 hours of trading and screen time Giuseppe also holds a B.Sc.Comp.Eng. and a Ma.Finance and he is an active researcher for the International Federation of Technical Analysts (SIAT/IFTA) with 3 research papers published between 2012 and 2014. He presented at the Italian Investment & Trading Forum and at the Money Show. He is a regular writer and speaker for FXStreet, where he conducts free and premium webinars and leads the Toronto Forex Meetup Group.
