July Event - TLSBC - Private Event for previous book club attendees only

Details

Hi All, I am organizing a summer social open to all previous book club attendees!

The book of the summer to read is "Cradle to Cradle."

I am going to recommend for all future book club events that attendees read this book. We often get into conversations about life cycle analysis and magnitude of impact of personal lifestyle changes in our book club discussions - this book does a great job of giving a foundation on some of the more fundamental sustainability concepts. I highly recommend it and I can't believe I waited this long to read it!!

You must have attended a previous book club to attend this specific event but regular Sustainability book clubs will resume in September open to all Toronto Ladies.

If you want to attend a future event - start reading Cradle to Cradle now too!

Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things by Michael Braungart and William McDonough

This groundbreaking book challenges the traditional "cradle to grave" manufacturing model and proposes a revolutionary "cradle to cradle" approach where products are designed to be either completely biodegradable or infinitely recyclable.

Rather than trying to minimize environmental damage, we should redesign industrial systems to be regenerative and beneficial to both humans and nature. The authors argue that with proper design, industry can actually enhance ecological health rather than degrade it.
