Docker and NATS Meetup During LinuxCon

Details

UPDATE: As the organizers of the Docker Toronto Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/Docker-Toronto/) were in the process of organizing a meetup at the same time, and as we don't want people to have to choose between the two (one of our talks is on Docker and NATS for microservices anyhow...so two very complimentary meetups), we are merging the meetup group during the week of LinuxCon to a joint meetup.

--

It's been a few months since our last NATS meetup, and we enjoyed the talks and meeting many of you. Our next meetup will be August 23rd at 6:30PM at the Lighthouse Labs (https://lighthouselabs.ca/toronto).

The tentative schedule is below. Please also take a moment to review the Code of Conduct for our meetup, which if you attend you will be expected to follow.

Food and beverage will be provided.

Docker Security and the Update Framework (TUF), Riyaz Faizullabhoy, Docker

The Update Framework (TUF) helps developers secure new or existing software update systems. TUF provides protection against Data tampering, rollbacks, and many cases of key compromise. This presentation will discuss both the attacks that TUF protects against, and how it actually does so under the hood. Additionally, this presentation will demonstrate the usability aspects of TUF, in particular how simple it is to recover from key compromise and delegate Trust to collaborators.

Code of Conduct

The NATS Meetup group is a place for people to share ideas, ask questions, and learn together. As such, attendees will be expected to be respectful of one another (we will not tolerate harassment of any kind), as well as the venue being provided to us by the hosts. If you are unable to adhere to these requirements, you will be asked to leave the meetup.
