Point Pelee Spring Bird Migration Spectacle Workshop
Only One Spot Remaining!
Experience one of North America’s greatest birding spectacles!
The Toronto Nature Lovers Meetup Group invites you to join us for an unforgettable four-day birding adventure at Point Pelee National Park during the famous Festival of Birds from Friday, May 9 to Monday, May 12, 2025.
Point Pelee, located just four hours southwest of Toronto, is Canada’s premier birding destination, especially during the spectacular spring migration. Each May, over 230 bird species travel through this birding hotspot, making it one of the most exciting birdwatching events in the world.
Why Choose Point Pelee?
Each morning at Point Pelee offers a dazzling display as countless vibrant warblers, tanagers, grosbeaks, orioles, and other migratory songbirds make their first stop after crossing Lake Erie from the tropics. Due to the park’s unique geographical location as a peninsula, birds arrive in large numbers, tired from their long journey and often feeding at eye level or lower—perfect for close-up photography!
Birding Highlights:
Our expert-guided tours have consistently provided sightings of over 35 warbler species, plus rare gems like Scissor-tailed Flycatcher and Mississippi Kite. Past highlights include sought-after birds such as Prothonotary Warbler, Kentucky Warbler, Kirtland’s Warbler, Hooded Warbler, Summer Tanager, Yellow-breasted Chat, and many others.
Point Pelee can sometimes be challenging due to uneven bird distribution, but our experience and local network ensure you won't miss any rare sightings. As soon as a rarity appears, we'll know exactly where to find it.
