Details

Hello Everyone,

ATTENTION. change in location, we will be hosting this PUG at Batch on 75 Victoria St.

Happy New Year!! Members of the Sourced Group, Zach and Pedram or Calvin will be giving a presentation on "Branch Aware CI/CD with Jenkins"

Presentation Two will be given by Andrew Brader from Puppet a veteran professional services engineer!!

Presentation

We will try to start the presentation at about 5.45pm so try to get to the location by 5.30pm.

Presentation overview:

Jenkins is an open source CI/CD platform, very common in Puppet development workflows and is used by Puppet themselves internally. Jenkins has been traditionally driven through a web UI, requiring users to manually create, update, and execute jobs through the web browser. The introduction of Jenkins 2.0 and the Pipeline plugin drastically changed the traditional approach, as it is now possible to apply CI/CD best practices to the build process, expressing the build plans in Groovy and storing them in Git. This talk will outline an approach to building a branch aware pipeline in Jenkins demonstrating these industry best practices.

Presentation TWO!!!

Yes you read that right we are going to have two presentations this time around!

The presentation by Puppet will focus on the benefits of treating your infrastructure as code to satisfy the configuration management needs in a DevOps toolchain, with a deeper diveof real world examples and Q&A
