Preparing for the meeting when using the zoom application
• Before the meeting, you can connect to this test meeting to test your Internet connection, as provided by zoom at this link: https://zoom.us/test
• Watch a quick instructional video that describes in general how to join a Zoom meeting: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-Joining-a-Meeting

To join the meeting over the Internet:
• Click on the meeting link above
• You will be asked to download the Zoom application to your computer or smartphone.
• If prompted, enter the meeting ID or the meeting password.
• You will have the chance to test your audio and video connection.
• You will be asked if you want to enable audio or video or both.
• In the Zoom app, your name may show as “Guest”. Please “Rename” yourself so that we can identify you. You can rename yourself by right-clicking your name, and clicking Rename. This is important since we’re using audio mostly and may not be able to see you. Your name should match the name you used to RSVP on meetup.com. Anyone who is not recognized may be asked to leave the meeting to ensure online security and group privacy in light of recent hacking of online events.

To join the meeting by telephone call (using any touch tone telephone):
• Dial one of the numbers above
• When prompted, enter the meeting ID then pound (#)
• If prompted for the password, enter the meeting password then #.
• To mute/unmute yourself, press *6.
• At the beginning of the meeting, the facilitator or meeting host will ask you to identify yourself and rename you in the zoom application so we can address you by name since we cannot see you.

Meeting Etiquette
• Please find a quiet location to share your audio or use a headset. As a courtesy, please keep yourself muted if you are not speaking. The host will mute you if your background audio is distracting to other participants and you are not speaking.
• There is a chat window. Remember that everyone can see what you type in the chat window. Please follow the group’s code of conduct.
