No-Show and Late Cancellation Policy:
Definitions:
- Late Cancellation: Cancellation of RSVP less than 36 hours in advance. Most restaurants require 24 hours' notice for reservation updates, and the additional 12 hours give me enough time to catch the cancellation, contact someone on the waitlist to fill the open space, or revise the restaurant reservation.
- No-Show: Not showing up without any notice or message to the host to acknowledge your late cancellation (this is simply rude).
General Policy:
- The above definitions apply regardless of whether the event requires an advance reservation at a restaurant.
- In cases where the restaurant requires more than 24 hours' notice, the Late Cancellation policy will be adjusted accordingly and communicated in the event details.
- Note: the “Meetup” app flags both late cancellations and no-shows as No-Shows, without ability to distinguish between the two. Therefore whether an incident was a genuine No-Show or a Late Cancellation, it will be captured in your attendance history as a No-Show.
- For members who have attended events before: 3 No-Shows/Late Cancellations will result in removal from the group.
- For new members who No-Show at their first event, they will be removed from the group immediately.
- Michelin Guide Restaurant Events: Those with any number of No-Shows or Late Cancellations may not be eligible to RSVP for these events.
Waitlist Management:
- RSVPs and waitlist will close 48 hours before the event. This ensures that those on the waitlist will not automatically be bumped up to “Going” due to a late cancellation.
- If a late cancellation opens up space for someone on the waitlist, and if there is still time within the restaurant's cancellation policy, I will manually contact those on the waitlist (in the order they joined) to see if anyone is interested in taking the available spot.
I understand life happens:
- For members who have attended events before without incident, your first Late Cancellation will be forgiven.
