Imperial Pub Night
Details
This coming Friday, October 24, 2025, we, the Toronto Writers Community, are having a kind of informal Pub Night at Imperial Pub (54 Dundas Street East). This isn't an Open Mic night, however, just a social call.
Unfortunately, with Imperial Pub closing down in a short while there was no time or date to book the back room - you could imagine how busy they are. I decided we should have a social night, just to kick back, have a drink and/or food, and enjoy one another's company. It's just a chill evening event. I'll be there from around 6pm to 9pm, give or take. Please come and stay as long as you want or stay as short as you want, no formal structure or anything.
This is a free event obviously, and I won't be soliciting donations (though if anyone wants to buy me a drink I won't say no), but I really recommend, if you are generous, to give the deserving staff the greatest tip the North has ever seen!
We will congregate at the start on the 2nd floor (the Library, since it's fitting for a group of writers). We might migrate depending on how busy things get and space, so if you don't see us upstairs feel free to check the patio or the main floor pub. Again, it's informal so we move through the space freely. Keep in mind, it is Friday night at a pub that is legendary and is closing soon, so it is likely to be VERY crowded.
It would be great if people have ideas about where the Toronto Writers Community should go in the future (format, events) or if you have future sites for Open Mic events in mind to feel free to discuss it. Let's brainstorm - the Toronto Writers Community belongs to all of us!
