What weâre about
Hello, and welcome to Toronto Artists & Art Lovers!
As the group name hints đŹ we're all about art. We're going to be arting a LOT in here.
The group is under new management (thank you so much to the previous organizers, who've obviously done an excellent job!), and we envision this group being a lot more active.
One way we're doing that is by offering an art prompts tool.
When you're facing artist's block, it can feel like a chore to pick up your instrument of choice, whether that be a stick of charcoal, a pen, a brush, or something else. When that happens and you're feeling stuck, try out Maya's AI Prompt Tools (more tools coming soon) - even just a quick rough sketch in your sketchbook will have you smiling and confident again.
Ready for some gallery visits? We'll do that, too!
Would you like to put on an art show? Message me (Maya) directly on Meetup and we'll talk about it - we have an event venue and some great local vendors who'll set up the beer, wine and cheese stations. Want a private group paint night? Let me know!
We're also going to be offering paint night events (in person and virtual) and retreats in a gorgeous wilderness setting. Stay tuned for further announcements!
PAINT NITE at Turtle Creek Retreats in Newtonville! Limited number of 2-for-1 tickets available - first come, first served.
Join us for a soulful evening of creativity and connection at Turtle Creek Retreats in Newtonville. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, youâll be guided by celebrated Indigenous artist Vicky Rozentals in creating your own inspired artwork.
This welcoming paint night is open to Indigenous community members and settlers alikeâa space to gather, share, and express through art in a peaceful rural setting. Whether you're an experienced painter or picking up a brush for the first time, you'll feel right at home.
Come for the art, stay for the company, and let the land inspire you.

All paint and painting supplies are included in your registration!
Will there be any refreshments offered?
Yes! Light snacks, tea, coffee, and water will be provided. You'll also have the opportunity to enjoy cedar teaâa delicious and healing Indigenous beverage.
⢠Is Turtle Creek Retreat an accessible space?
This workshop takes place on the ground floor, with easy access for those using walkers or canes. The bathroom and kitchen area are up two steps, which some may find manageable. Weâre actively working to add ramps for mobility devices this summer to make Turtle Creek even more accessible to all.
⢠Are you close to public transit?
Public transit isnât nearbyâthatâs part of the charm of our rural retreat. If you're open to it, weâre happy to help connect you with other participants to arrange a ride share. Please send us a message and we will see how we might be able to accommodate you.
⢠Will this be the only event that Vicky will be teaching at?
Not at all! Weâre delighted to be welcoming Vicky as a regular guestâour very own artist in residence, if you will. She brings a wealth of talent and creativity to each session, and we're already planning future visits with her.
