(Online Event) ASL practice on Zoom
Details
Let's practice ASL together! Join us weekly on Zoom. Discussions are voice-off, turn-based and facilitated. All skill levels are welcomed. Participants with at least basic fluency (fingerspelling and some basic signs) will benefit most.
How to join video chat:
- RSVP ahead of meeting. (Only those who have RSVPed will see the link to join the meeting)
- At meeting time, click the link. You will be directed to Zoom after passing the finger spell check.
- computers with Zoom installed (you can still run on browser without installing app, but you may not see everyone at once on screen)
- tablets / smart phones (limited real estate on a smaller device cannot display all participants at once)
Remember to be a good participant:
- VOICE OFF (mute your device avoid background noise. In case your ASL is rusty, common alternatives are: gesturing or sending a text message on the chat.)
- Avoid virtual backgrounds (it makes fingerspelling difficult to read)
- Be courteous and considerate.
- Wait for your turn to sign to avoid confusion.
