Join hundreds of bicyclists for a huge demonstration in support of renewable energy! It will be educational, scenic, and fun for all ages!

Free lunch, free transportation to and from the event, and free fun! If you want the free lunch and/or free transportation, just go to the Ride for Renewables website and sign up:

http://www.riderenew.ca/

The main event is 45 kilometres, but there's a 25 kilometres option for people who want to start later. If 45 kilometres isn't enough for you, there are optional extensions to 62 or 90 kilometres.

Most of the ride will take place on paved off-road paths. There are a few short segments on gravel, but the ride as a whole is suitable for all types of bicycles and riding abilities. This isn't a race, and everyone is free to ride at their own pace. Please notify one of the guides if you plan to ride ahead.

What to bring:

  • bicycle
  • helmet
  • water bottle
  • sunscreen
  • mobile telephone
  • camera
  • transit tickets/fares (if you're transporting yourself)
  • lunch (if you're providing your own)
  • money (for emergencies, or if you plan to buy anything)
  • spare tube (in case of a flat tire)

There will be bathrooms and places to fill up your water bottles along the way. These locations will be announced during the ride.

I think renewable energy is awesome. The more I learn about how other countries are benefiting from their renewable energy investments, the more I want to see these technologies utilized in my own country.

The biggest ride I ever attended had about 160 attendees, and this one is expected to be much bigger. Invite everyone you know, and let's make this ride epic!
