In Person/Remote ElixirTO - June 2024

Hey Toronto Elixir,

Summer is finally here and we are back for another meetup!

This event will be BOTH in person and online! They hybrid format has been pretty successful so we are very excited to, once again, bring together local Torontonians and people from all over the world that we met during the online only meetups!

We will be hosted by the gracious folks at 7Shifts, pizza and beverages will also be provided for in-person attendees.

The appointment is for Wednesday June 5th, doors open at 6:30 pm at the 7Shifts Toronto office or online on Zoom

Talks will start around 7pm.

First, Alisina Bahadori (https://github.com/alisinabh) will be on stage presenting: BEAMing light onto Erlang’s Virtual Machine - An introduction into Erlang VM opcodes, compiler optimizations and analyzing some of them.

Shortly after, our resident speaker Mat Trudel (https://github.com/mtrudel) of ElixirConf fame will be back on stage with a "Getting down to basics (and back again) with processes" - We'll talk about the fundamentals of the process model, and build our way back up to the patterns we know and use every day. We'll cover messaging, monitoring, and a couple of other exotic escape hatches. Fun, I promise!
