Elixir TO February 2025 - In Person & Remote

Hey Toronto Elixir,
Winter is in full swing in Toronto and we are back for our first meetup of 2025!

This event will be BOTH in person and online! The hybrid format has been pretty successful so we are very excited to, once again, bring together local Torontonians and people from all over the world that we met during the online only meetups!

We will be hosted by the gracious folks at 7Shifts, pizza and beverages will also be provided for in-person attendees.

Talks will start around 7pm.

First, we're excited to welcome Valerii Vasylkov (https://github.com/ctrldrift) who joins us on stage for the first time with his talk "Ejabberd revisited: A look at the current state of ejabberd and how it still is a great choice for modern chat backends—scalable, configurable, and XMPP-friendly".

Shortly after, our resident speaker Mat Trudel (https://github.com/mtrudel) of ElixirConf fame will be back on stage with another insightful talk - this time the topic will be "Enstabilize & Quickify Yer Tests To Do Better Stuff" - Bandit's test suite just got 10x faster over the holiday break, and now features a bunch of useful patterns to speed things up, make test intent clearer, and eliminate flakiness. Projects live and die by their test suites, and I'm stoked to share some of these strategies to help enbetterate yours.
