Daggerheart is a new "classic" version of Dungeons & Dragons for modern audiences. The team behind it, Critical Role, has streamlined it for beginner friendliness and to focus on epic storytelling centred on character exploration and development. Daggerheart is very much built around what most folks find fun about roleplaying games: ups and downs, surprises and discoveries. The book comes with many settings or "frames," from Delicious in Dungeon to Game of Thrones, Final Fantasy to Dark Souls, Princess Mononoke to Fallout.
Format for August (subject to change): You'll start by playing both monsters and the villagers they haunt, then switch to playing the monster-slayers who arrive in their wake. Please see the Discord for details, and to see plans for a future campaign-style leveling system!
