Calling all Ladies!
Do your friends say you are hilarious and you should try stand up? Are you terrified of public speaking and have promised yourself you would overcome it? Looking for your few minutes of fame?
This is an incredible opportunity that you will NEVER find anywhere else!
In a nutshell – take a comedy writing class to create a few jokes, and then perform a short set in a comedy festival! Pretty freaking cool – right?!
Please note: This is for females only, as this is being offered as part of the SheDot Comedy Festival – a festival of funny women. Boys, we will explore doing one for everyone later in the year!

ABOUT DAWN WHITWELL
http://photos4.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/a/b/f/f/600_458444031.jpeg
Dawn Whitwell has taught standup comedy since 2002, and since then has honed her own style of shaping students' personal narratives into jokes. Ever since serving as a juror for a comedy award in 2006, Dawn has actively advocated for an increased presence of women in Toronto's Standup community. Dawn is excited and inspired to continue Comedy Girl at the rousing phenomenon of Toronto's comedy landscape, Comedy Bar.
Some things Dawn's students have said:
"Wow!!! What a feeling. People laughed!!!"
"I just wanted to say that your course is truly awesome, and that you have a great talent for helping us find our own angle on jokes, and for seeing how to polish the stones into gems:)"
"You've given me more ability and confidence in this field than I ever suspected"

ABOUT the SHEDOT FESTIVAL
http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/a/c/2/c/600_458444076.jpeg
SheDot Festival is Toronto’s Festival of Funny Women. From May 4th – 7th, 2017 SheDot Festival is celebrating its fourth annual event in Toronto. As one of the biggest and best comedy centres in the world, Toronto is home to many of the world’s funniest comedians. Funny women have not received the recognition they most certainly deserve in the comedy community, until now. SheDot Festival features stand up, sketch, and improv performances, workshops, panels and much more.
SHEDOT and BUCKET LIST TORONTO
The producers of SheDot Festival are excited to team up with Bucket List Toronto for this one-of-a-kind opportunity! In addition to promoting and celebrating women in comedy, we also relish the idea of encouraging women to push themselves to explore their funny side.

A note from Martha O'Neill - one helluva funny lady and a founder of the festival. You should listen to her words of wisdom here...
Comedy is not easy, but with some guidance and comradery, we KNOW you are going to enjoy your time on our stage when you embrace this challenge. There is nothing like making an audience laugh! The bragging rights are just a bonus.
Become the bravest person you know!
