Hi all Bucket List Toronto Members!

I hope you are all healthy and are being good citizens by staying home when you can - and keeping your distance! We have all been affected by the events in the US and around the world. These events are waking everyone up to systemic racism that is present in our society. Enough.

It's a tough time and I know everyone is craving some human interaction and connection... So, Choir!Choir!Choir! has a great solution... This week's singalong is in support against black racism.

I will paste the instructions and notes below from Nobu and Daveed (aka Dabu) for what to do to get connected for Tuesday!

I usually find the YouTube link to be much better than the Facebook Live one - but try both and see which one works best for you!

Hope to see you online on Tuesday!

xo Maria (and the rest of the BLT team!)

Think about the music you love.

So many of our faves are rooted in the music made by musicians from the Black diaspora. There are too many great artists to mention, so many inspiring jams with a lifetime of memories attached. And yet, society has continued to discriminate against these, and other PoC, communities. It simply has to stop.

With your help, we are raising funds for six essential organizations who serve the Black and PoC community, both in the GTA and across Canada.

They are:

  1. Black Health Alliance - www.blackhealthalliance.ca
  2. NIA Centre For The Arts - www.niacentre.org
  3. Women's Health In Women's Hands - www.whiwh.com
  4. Canadian Civil Liberties Association - www.ccla.org
  5. Across Boundaries - www.acrossboundaries.ca
  6. CAFCAN - www.cafcan.org

The range is from social justice to health to cultural because society is not a mono-culture. And it’s not just about giving money - it’s about digging into the issues beyond the headlines long after the news cycle moves on. It’s about listening, learning, and seeking out different ways to make space for and to lift up these communities. It’s about contributing to the abolishment of systemic racism. But it’s also about raising money to support those that work year round on these issues. And who have done so for a very long time, in the face of such adversity. Throughout the hour, we'll be sharing messages from these organizations about the important work that they do.

We (C!C!C!/DaBu) pledge $6000 to kickstart this campaign.

Our friends at Moose Knuckles Canada have matched our donation and will be giving $6000 to the fund as well!
So awesome!

We encourage you to donate what you can to the Choir! Choir! Choir! Foundation. We will add it to the fund and then equally distribute to all 6 organizations. If you all match our seed contribution, we’ll get to $24k, and each of these orgs will get $4000.

You can donate to the Choir! Choir! Choir! Foundation at any time here:

And… as always, we’ll sing our way through it. Be ready to sing some of the greatest songs of all time!

We are at a heavy moment in our history but the opportunity to change course on a mass level is right now.
Let’s be part of the change.
And let’s make it significant.

C! you Tuesday night live online!

Much love,
-DaBu-
