Coffee Driven TDD: Extreme Baby Steps

Details

TDD is one of those things that are relatively simple to explain but that takes lots of practice to master. And the road to mastery is paved with lots of practice.

The “Coffee Driven TDD” sessions are informal, deliberate practice sessions held at a coffee shop. The idea is simple: let’s just get together, get some coffee (and perhaps a sweet treat) and work on some TDD problems (a project you’re working on, a programming Kata, etc.)

Each of these sessions will have a recommended technique to focus practice on. For these session, let’s focus on one of the most important skills required for effective TDD: working in very small, incremental steps. To help with practicing that, we’ll encourage people to follow the “Extreme Baby Steps (http://blog.adrianbolboaca.ro/2013/03/taking-baby-steps)” rules.

All that said, the ultimate goal is to practice, learn from each other and have fun, so feel free to just come and work on your own stuff, ask from help from other participants, or mentor other TDD enthusiasts.

This session, being the first of this kind, will also be an experiment, to see if the format, venue and other premises work. Come join us, practice your craft, and help us improve the TDD meetup! If everything fails, this place serves delicious gelato and other sweets ;-)
