🌞 Join us for a fun-filled summer day in Barrie!
We’re heading to the Kempenfest Festival, one of Ontario’s biggest outdoor celebrations of art, crafts, live music, rides, food, and waterfront fun. We'll travel together by GO Train and explore the festival as a group (or on your own—your choice!).

### 🖼️ A Bit of History
Kempenfest began in 1971 with just a handful of artists displaying their work on snow fences outside the Formosa Springs Brewery. Now, over 50 years later, it's grown into one of Ontario’s largest and most beloved festivals. Expect live music, 300+ vendors, tasty eats, midway rides, and scenic views along Lake Simcoe.

### 🚆 How We’re Getting There: GO Train

• Cost: $10 Weekend Day Pass – Click here to buy

(Only buy after July 28 – valid for 10 days and don't activate till we all meetup. This is cheaper than Presto or senior fares. Online only.)

• Meetup Time: 8:15 AM (we will wait till 8:35am before walking over to Union Station)
• Meetup Spot: Outside Fairmont Royal York – I’ll be wearing my Moose Hat 🦌
• Train Leaves: 8:52 AM
• Arrival in Barrie: 10:35 AM
• Walk to Festival: ~15 minutes
• Return Train Options:
• 5:05 PM (Mathew’s departure)
• 8:08 PM (optional late return)

• This Meetup is for GO Train travellers only. There is no designated Meetup spot for those who drive.
• $5 Meetup Fee: Cash at the event or e-transfer to **mathewmaclean@hotmail.com**

• Festival Entry is FREE, but bring money for food, shopping, or rides.
• Group or Solo: Once we arrive, you can enjoy the festival with the group or explore on your own.
• We’ll be walking all day, so please make sure you’re able to participate independently and support yourself throughout the event.
