Sailing and Hiking in the Lofoten Islands

On board a sailing boat, enjoy the beauty and particular atmosphere of the Lofoten Islands and the endless days under the midnight sun.

What's the plan?
The following itinerary is subject to change depending on local conditions at the time of the trip, in particular in case of difficult weather or sea conditions.

Day 1:

• 17:00 boarding, welcome on board, briefing, security instructions, general presentation on the trip.
• Sailing toward Arsteinein.
• Mooring for the night.

Day 2:

• Traversing hike on Arsteinen and climbing Stortiden (Alt 530m) – 4-5 hours hike.
• Sailing to Reknesbukta.
• Mooring for the night.

Day 3:

• Sailing to Trollkfjord.
• Hiking to Trollfjordhytta (Alt 504m) – 5 hours hike.
• Sailing to Randsvika.
• Mooring for the night, short walk on shore, BBQ on the beach.

Day 4:

• Sailing to Henningsvaer.
• Hiking to Festvagtinden (Alt 541m) or along the coastline (2-3 hours hike).
• Visit of Haenningsvaer charming fishing village, café, panoramic sauna at the Trevarefabrikken…
• Night at Henningsvaer harbour.

Day 5:

• Sailing to Stamsung.
• Hiking along the mountain ridge of Mannfallet all the way to the Steintinden (Alt 509m), passing through the Ramntinden (Alt 498m) and the Skredkollen (Alt 485m) – 5 hours hike.
• Sailing to Napp.

Day 6:

• Hiking to the Hustinden (Alt 691m) and Vikten beach; visit to the master glass artist and swim.
• Sailing to Straumoya and mooring for the night.

Day 7:

• Hiking from Straumoya to Nusfjord and Nesland (5-6 hours hike).
• Sailing to Svolvaer and night at the harbour.

Day 8:

• Passengers leave the boat no later than 9am and transfer to the airport.

How to get there

Harstad, Lofoten Islands Norway.
Nearest Airport: Narvik – Harstad Evenes Airport
Narvik – Harstad Evenes Airport with direct transfer to Harstad by bus (50 minutes journey by bus).
NB: for the return, possible to fly directly from Svolvaer to Oslo via Bodo.

Kit list
Pack in a soft duffel bag type bag; avoid rigid suitcase.

• Hiking boots
• Non-marking grip shoes for the deck
• Slippers or crocs
• Technical hiking clothing (t-shirt, trousers, socks, etc.)
• Warm underwear
• Goretex-type windproof mountain jacket and waterproof overtrousers
• Down jacket and fleece
• Comfortable clothes for the evening
• Protection from the sunglasses, sunscreen, cap – and from the cold – hat, gloves, buff
• Head-lamp with spare batteries
• Personal medicines, as well as medicine against seasickness
• Water bottle or thermos
• Book, guidebook...
• Binoculars, camera, telephone, charger...
• Toiletry, earplugs
• Your favorite cereal bars, snacks, drinks, or food
• 20-30L backpack for hiking
• Walking sticks for the one who need
• Valid ID or passport that will be made available to the Skipper for the formalities

Full payment is due upon registration.

Cancellation Policy:

• Within 30 days prior to departure: no reimbursement.
• Full reimbursement in case of cancelation by the organisers.

No refund will be granted in case of cancellation due to force majeure (war, strikes, natural disaster, epidemic, etc.). It is therefore strongly recommended to purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering such a situation.
