Join us for this daytrip with everything from beaches, butterflies and buying – at the markets. First up we’re up to Bulcock Beach and the ‘Caloundra Street Fair’. This starts at 8am so we do want to head up there early to make sure you don’t miss any bargains. You can read more about this here: https://caloundramarkets.com.au/
Now an interesting thing about Bulcock Beach is it’s kind of in a transitive state from a beach to a massive sand pit, as the waterway now cuts through Bribe Island. Don’t worry there is a beach nearby, it’s just the Pumicestone Passage has changed it’s course. As well as the markets, Caloundra and Bulcock Beach are a fabulous destination for walks, the beach, ice cream and much more. It has a very lively vibe, without being overdone like some places south of Brisbane.
Around 1:30 we’ll set off to get to Bribie Island and see the Butterfly House there. This is a massive greenhouse full of butterflies and some other fascinating bits and pieces; you can read more about the Butterfly House here: https://www.bribieislandbutterflyhouse.org/about-us
We should back to Brisbane around 5:30 or 6.
8:00 am Pick Up Roma St Bus stop 125 opposite The Police Station
9:30 am See the markets at Caloundra and have a look around Bulcock Beach
1:30 pm Set off for Bribie Island
2:30 pm Butterfly House
4:00 pm Have a quick look around Bribie island
4:30 Head back to Brisbane
5:45 Arrive back in Brisbane
Please be on time for the bus at 8:00 at Roma St Bus Stop 125. The bus will be opposite the police station, near Makerston St.
