Kick off the weekend with Friday Flights at Vino!
Joan here...I posted this event in my other meetup group, Wandering Women Who Wine and thought it might be something interesting to our friends here as well! Spring is the perfect time to come out and make new friends-and it couldn't be easier than joining others at a table and chatting over wine!
This will be my first time, so I can't tell you firsthand what to expect, but I'm thinking this will be a very social event, perhaps sitting with folks we haven't met yet, but we can try to sit in a group if space and arrival time allows. We are going to limit the RSVP's for this group so as not to overwhelm VINO. Feel free to come and go anytime between 4:30-8:00pm
Here's what their website tells us:
VINO’s Friday Flights happen the first and third Friday of every month, running from 4:30 until 8:00. You get a flight of five wines for $10-$12, and we will usually have 2 or 3 bonus pours for a nominal extra charge. You can drop in anytime, and all are welcome from newbies to wine know-it-alls. We always provide the bread to cleanse your palates and please feel free to bring snacks and other nibbles with you!
They've had their shop since 1999-obviously they are doing something right!
The Vino Philosophy:
At VINO we love wine. Drinking it, talking about it, visiting suppliers, drinking it…..you get the picture. But we also don’t take it too seriously. After all this is a beverage that is meant to be enjoyed, not put on a pedestal as a monument to someone’s ego. We try to make it accessible, affordable, and most of all an accompaniment to life’s other pleasures. Food, travel, friends, family.
...As you look through our offerings we hope you’ll find something to pique your interest, or at the very least have fun reading about our latest finds. Nothing makes us happier than discovering some hidden gem from a little known producer at a great price. We tell our customers all the time that you don’t have to spend a lot to drink well, and if you are in a store that says otherwise you’re probably in the wrong store.
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!!!!
Looking forward to seeing you there!
