Los Altos is having its 47th Arts & Wine festival over the July 11-12th weekend, we are going, with our usual volunteer crew building and festival social tracks, on Sunday afternoon.

Los Altos may be known as small and rich, yet do you know it was an orchard town before? Indeed many of its streets and lots were designed to accommodate farming equipment and orchards. It has since risen to its current way of life with the growth of silicon valley. Yet walking through its downtown today feels surprisingly similar to decades ago, as it has resisted commercial development. The festival is said to be attended by over 100k people over the weekend, even as Los Altos only has 30k residents. So come to see people and find some old town feel.
Crew building volunteering track:
This is the fastest way to have some solid friends (crew) after a simple working together side by side shift, as our past festivals have shown.
Register your shift for 3-6pm of Sun 12th at:
https://losaltosvillageassociation.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/?id=114077
Festival social meetup track:
Another festival social experience, group based, check out downtown and all the offerings of the festival.
How it works:
Location: Los Altos Library,
13 S San Antonio Rd, Los Altos
2pm Everybody meet together in front of the library
2:15pm Visit the Los Altos History Museum next door
2:50pm Walk to Festival, volunteers start their shifts.
3:00pm Group based social in the festival
6:00pm Regroup, and group dinner together somewhere close by.
Parking:
There are many lots around the library & city government circle. Try the lot behind the library, beside the police department if you cannot find any.
Los Altos Festival volunteering is a bit of an outlier. It doesn't have volunteer T-shirt, so wear a volunteer T-shirt from other places if you got one. It doesn't have volunteer check-in, so you walk directly to the booth you signed up. No worry on that part though, we will walk you to your shift. And its volunteer appreciation event usually happens before the event.
We use WhatsApp for in-event communication. So sign up to the channel to get updates. We will publish it a few days before the event.
