Fire Circle -- Group Volunteering Camping, Mt. Madonna Park, V-O-CAL

We will be attending our sisters org -- V-O-CAL (Volunteer for Outdoor California)'s group volunteering camping at Mt. Madonna county park, Watsonville in this April 17 - 19 weekend, to the south of San Jose, to the east of Santa Cruz, between 101 and highway 1. In the Manzanita Group Camp ground.

By our experience, camping is the most effective way to get connected with people. You will be together with a group of 100 volunteers day and night, free camping , free food during the camping weekend (except Friday evening). Repairing trails by the day between 9am - 3pm, with lunch break, then socialize in the group camp ground afterwards. Detail schedule etc. see the link above.

No, you don't need to attend the whole weekend, camping is also optional, you can select the segments that you are interested in. Some of us will attend the Friday to Sat activity, then go SF to attend the Cherry Blossom Festival on April 19 Sunday.

VOCAL has been organizing this volunteering camping for over 20 years. Great chance to socialize, you will work with each other on trails, share meal on picnic tables, sit by camp fire by the evening, and sleep in the camp ground at night, in a county park. Interaction rich and multiple points to know people, with a big volunteering crowd. By the end of the event, you are guaranteed to have memory if not friends.

You need to bring your own tent gear, with a camp chair preferably to sit by the camp fire. We can share snacks and stories by the campfire, in the woods, with such a well organized outdoor volunteering group.

We will do a number of social programs in the camp, like one day host etc., to help people make connections in the camp. Enjoy the mellow evenings and chance upon, as many of the volunteers are not even on meetup. Their March event in China Camp is full 10 days before the event date, so we think of the April event, register early to secure a seat.

If you are interested in the social side, prepare some programs you want to organize in the camp ground. Bring your guitar, prepare some songs so you can impress. Group camping is always fun.
