There are many famous trails around town in the valley, Guadeloupe trail for San Jose, Los Gatos Creek trail for Campbell, and bay trail for all the towns strung along the bay. Stevens Creek trail is such one, for south bay towns like Mountain View, Sunnyvale etc.. Right by your neighborhood, easily accessible.

Stevens Creek trail extends from the border of Sunnyvale all the way to shoreline park in the bay, along the Stevens Creek trail. One fact you most probably won't know, there is a segmented part in Cupertino, not connected to others. There is even a long separated segment along the Steven Creeks reservoir in the hills, we can visit someday.

The social trails series is to have people visit those famous trails together, walk/run/bike or whatever format, for a short time like one hour or so, then have meals together. So one outing that meets both your weekly social and work out quotas. Plus, we plan to rotate across those trails and towns, so you get chance to visit different neighborhoods, and the social people living by. Bring your weekend plan, so to find people going out together afterwards. This is the typical side by side format we have found good for social.

Winter is coming, now it gets dark after 5pm. We did golden hour walks in the summer hours, we now transit to weekend format in winter time. We are going to tune the format by people's preferences.

Following our TownFlame principle, we will tap and ask for volunteers for activity squads leads. In the meanwhile, we would call upon our community volunteers to serve as stewards in rotation, to work together with the squad leads in a hosting team. To all volunteers, you served your town, now claim the trails, and the social life of the town. Plus, a builder's social among the leads.

How it works
We meet, do a quick round of intros, and split into lanes by pace: walk, run, or bike. Each lane heads north on Stevens Creek for half an hour, then turns back. Walkers switch partners on the return, so you’ll talk with more than one person. Every lane exits at El Camino Real and meets at the same table for pho at Pho Anh. After lunch, we stroll back to the trailhead together.
Before we leave the table, we do a quick “what’s next?” round. Got an idea for a hike, a Friday dinner, a festival? Pitch it, and find your crew right there.

Who it’s for
Newcomers to the area, longtime locals who want more friends nearby, runners looking for company, anyone ready to get out of the house on a Saturday. Come solo. Most people do.

Adopt your trail
This is the first of our Social Trails series. Enjoy it and want more? Lane leads are tapped on the spot, and teams can adopt their local trail to lead future outings, with TownFlame’s playbook, training, and network behind you. It starts with one walk.
