Towson Pack Walks

Hello everyone. Please give me a few more weeks to work work with my new dog. He didn't do well on his walk today and seems to be reactive to male dogs. At this time it would be unsafe for me to handle two dogs in the case that he decides to feel challenged by other males.

A little about the goal of this walk :

Towson is a very pet friendly neighborhood and it is my hopes to create a pet supportive community. The initial walk outlined on the map is about two miles but it can be broken down and extended.

I ask everyone to be 3 things.

Patient: We will have dogs of all training levels joining us. We can walk in groups or spaced out just please be flexible.

In tuned: Know your dog! Be honest with yourself and don’t be afraid to ask for advice. For example, if your dog is reactive you can either walk in the front of the group or behind the group but eventually the reactive dogs get acclimated and adjust their behavior.

Aware: Please follow all Baltimore County pet laws. I know dogs are supposed to be leashed however I am looking for safe areas where we can have off leash play. I don’t believe Towson has a dog park at the moment but hopefully we can change that.

Notes:

I will send out surveys to find out what times works for everyone. I normally walk very early or later in the day due to the heat and training levels of my dogs. I welcome all suggestions and if anyone has a large yard or knows of an open gated space I would love to have a Halloween event.
