## Summer Exclusive! Fresh Indigo Leaf Dyeing Workshop

Does the color of aizome, the traditional Japanese indigo dye popularly known as “Japan blue,” come to mind?
In fact, indigo dyeing has a color that can only be produced in summer. Let's dye a silk stole emerald green using fresh indigo leaves.

Dyeing with fresh indigo leaves is a special experience that can only be enjoyed in summer.
In this workshop, participants will use freshly harvested indigo leaves from Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture, to dye a silk stole.
Your instructor will be Cozo Kazama, a certified Traditional Craftsman of Tochigi Prefecture with many years of experience in Japanese indigo dyeing. Alongside hands-on dyeing, he will give a short lecture on the history and beauty of indigo, allowing you to deepen your understanding while enjoying the craft.
The workshop also includes a relaxing tea time featuring tea brewed from indigo leaves—a unique chance to learn and unwind at the same time. Don’t miss this summer-only opportunity!

## 夏限定！藍の生葉染ワークショップ

日本の伝統、「ジャパン・ブルー」で親しまれる藍染の色が思い浮かぶでしょうか？
実は藍染には夏にしか出せない色があります。藍の生葉を使って、シルクストールをエメラルドグリーンに染めましょう。
今回のワークショップでは、栃木県足利市で収穫した新鮮な藍の葉を使い、シルクストールを染め上げます。
講師は、長年藍染に携わり、栃木県伝統工芸士として活動されている 風間幸造氏。藍染の魅力や歴史についての短い講義もあり、知識を深めながら実際の染色を体験できます。
また、藍の葉を使ったお茶を楽しむティータイムもご用意しています。学びと癒しが一度に味わえる、夏ならではの贅沢なひとときをぜひご体験ください。
