Before RSVPing:
To join any Trail Ready event, please complete these two steps first:

  1. Fill out and submit your Trail Ready waiver packet. Trail Ready Packet
  2. Send your $25 membership fee and $5 event fee via Zelle (mrodonald@gmail.com and make sure it's sent to Trail Ready Program LLC)

The $5 event fee can be sent in advance via Zelle (preferred) or paid in cash at check-in before the hike begins.

Kraft Mountain offers a 3.5- to 4-mile loop through Calico Basin, featuring steep climbs, scenic washes, and sections of red sandstone that include moderate rock scrambling (10–15%). This route tests both endurance and focus, offering hikers a well-rounded challenge with rewarding summit views. Beyond the physical experience, this hike reinforces Trail Ready’s 10 Pillars of Hiking—emphasizing awareness, communication, and preparedness on every step of the trail.

HIKE QUICK STATS:
• Location: Kraft Mountain parking lot
• Distance: 3.5 - 4 miles
• Elevation gain: 800 ft
• Difficulty & pace: moderate/strenuous
• Time: 4hours (includes driving)
• No guests, children, canines, or event crashers please!
• All attendees must be members of VegasHikers. It only takes a couple of minutes to sign up, and it's FREE.

GEAR:

  • Backpack
  • Hiking shoes; approach shoes are helpful
  • No trekking poles
  • 2L of water, sun protection, snacks & electrolytes

CARPOOLS:
We will meet at the Red Rock Hotel, West parking garage, 4th floor, section 4D, near the ramp to form carpools.
