What we’re about
Welcome to Trail Running in Korea. Please read below if it is your first time.
FOR FIRST TIMERS/BEGINNERS:
- How far do you run?
If you are comfortable running 10-15km on the road you should be fit enough to enjoy yourself. It is not a hiking group - How do we run?
We run until it is too steep to do so (We run the flats and the downhills and hike the uphills). Everyone has a different speed but we all stick together. You will not be left behind. - Equipment
Trail running needs more equipment to be outside for more time, up to 6hrs of running and fast hiking.
a) Water
You need to bring at least 1L of water with you. On hot days you will need more. (This can be bought at 7/11's along the route but sometimes is unavailable due to the run location, see point 3d below).
b) Food
To keep fighting in the mountains you are going to need fuel. Dried fruit, nuts, chocolate bars, energy bars or gels. Your choice, but bring at least 2 or 3 things
c) Running shoes
Normal running shoes are good for dry conditions BUT when you get hooked (coz trail running is so awesome) look at investing in more grip.(https://www.runnersworld.com/gear/a22115120/best-trail-running-shoes/)
d) Running Vest
Your water and your energy bars need to go somewhere. Hiking packs are too big and bounce too much while running. Trail runners prefer a vest (https://www.cleverhiker.com/best-running-vests). If you do not have a vest, don't worry a small bag with a waist and chest strap can work too! - Start times
Sometimes it is early. Sometimes it is far. Always be respectful. Please make sure you know how long it will take to arrive and plan accordingly. The starting time mentioned is the actual (hard) starting time of the run, meaning the time we hit the road/trail. Please be 15 minutes earlier if there is anything you need to prepare before starting. - RSVP
A lot of effort goes into making this group fun and exciting. If you don't want fun then please change your status to "Not Going" so we can plan accordingly.

15km Namsan Run & Five Guys Burger Lunch
Location not specified yet15km, 300m ascent
9:00 AM at Chungjeongno Station, Exit 3 (충정로역 3번 출구)
This is a very runnable route that takes us around Namsan and nearby areas, covering roughly 15km in total. The course includes scenic trails and city views, making it a great mix of nature and urban running. The total time will be about 3 hours.
It’s the perfect time to run and enjoy the beautiful autumn colors around Namsan. 🍁
After the run, we can discuss how to gain all the weight back, but for now, my recommendation is Five Guys at Seoul station. 🍔
We will meet at Chungjeongno Station, Exit 3, at 9:00 AM.
