Join us as we explore a scenic area set among the rolling hills and woods of the North Downs. A nominated World Heritage Site, the area's claim to fame is its connection to Charles Darwin who found inspiration in this land for his greatest work - that upon the theory of evolution.

Our trail takes us firstly across picturesque fields and a beautiful country park, and from there to the pretty village of Downe. Passing by Darwin's old home we will head east, reaching the woods of Downe Bank and then on into Cudham Valley.

Meeting place: Chelsfield Railway Station (Zone 6). Frequent trains from Charing Cross, Waterloo East, and London Bridge.

Meeting time: 11.00 am

Distance: 16 km/10 miles

Hike level: easy to medium (you need to be reasonably fit to participate in this activity)

Expected finish: 5 pm
